My Firefly (A Sonnet)

Fireflies light up the sky,
they match the sparkle in your eye.
You fill my heart with delight,
I don’t think I’ve shown so bright.

I see that look on your face,
the one that can’t be replaced.
I pray that it will never go away,
that it will stay with me during the day.

When will I work up the nerve,
truly I’m not what you deserve.
I’m sure there is someone finer than I,
truly, I wouldn't tell a lie.
